A Bold, Aromatic Medium-Dark Blend Where Kopi Heritage Meets Specialty
Kopio bridges the gap between local kopi and specialty coffee. It is a medium-dark blend of specialty Arabica from El Salvador, Colombia and Ethiopia with Malaysian Liberica, roasted to order in Kuala Lumpur. The cup is bold and aromatic, with malt chocolate and caramel sweetness lifted by hints of apple and spice. Kopi lovers will know it straight away. It is an everyday cup for filter or espresso.
Tasting Notes
Malt Chocolate · Caramel · Apple & Spice

About This Coffee
Kopio is our take on Malaysian kopi. We build it from specialty Arabica across El Salvador, Colombia and Ethiopia for chocolate, caramel and a thread of fruit, then add Malaysian Liberica for local heritage and aromatic depth.
The result is bold and comforting at once: malt chocolate and caramel up front, roasted nuts and spice in the background, and a smooth dark-chocolate finish with low acidity. It is familiar to anyone who grew up on local kopi, and a daily driver for kopi lovers who want to try specialty.
How to Brew Kopio
| Espresso | 1:1.5 ratio: 18g in, 27g out for a bold, concentrated shot |
| Filter | 1:13 ratio, water at 93°C |
If your espresso tastes sharp or thin, grind a little finer; if it tastes harsh or dry, grind coarser. For filter, dial the grind to land a 3 to 4 minute brew.
How Much Coffee Is in a Bag?
At 15g a cup, a 300g bag makes about 20 cups, or RM1.95 a cup. Two 300g bags make about 40 cups at about RM1.88 a cup, and the 1kg bag stretches to about 66 cups at RM1.80 a cup. The recipes above use 18g, so expect a few cups fewer if you brew that way.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Kopio better for espresso or filter?
Both work, but it is at its best as filter, where the malt-chocolate and caramel sweetness and aromatic spice have room to open up. As espresso it pulls a bold, concentrated shot that also holds up well in milk.
What does Kopio taste like?
Malt chocolate and caramel up front, with hints of apple and spice and a roasted-nut depth, finishing on smooth dark chocolate. It is bold, aromatic and low in acidity, and familiar to kopi lovers.
How fresh is the coffee?
We roast to order in Kuala Lumpur, print the roast date on every bag and ship within 24 hours of roasting. It reaches you a few days later. Coffee beans taste best from 5 to 7 days after roasting and stay good to about day 30, so the whole window is yours.
Is it suitable for beginners?
Yes. It is forgiving and crowd-pleasing, with low acidity and bold flavour, and it works with or without milk. A simple 1:1.5 espresso or 1:13 filter recipe gets you a delicious cup with no fuss.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes, from RM80 in Peninsular Malaysia (RM7 below that). The 1kg bag ships free; two 300g bags at RM75 sit just under the line. East Malaysia ships free from RM150 and Singapore from RM200. Subscriptions ship free anywhere in Malaysia.
