A Velvety Vanilla-and-Caramel Blend Built for Milk Drinks

Canelé is a medium-dark espresso blend of specialty arabica from El Salvador and Ethiopia, roasted fresh in Kuala Lumpur. It leads with vanilla, caramel and ripe berries over a soft chocolate finish, with a full, velvety body and very low acidity. Made for anyone who loves smooth, indulgent lattes and cappuccinos at home.

About This Coffee

Canelé pairs two complementary origins to build a cosy, approachable cup. The Salvadoran component brings caramel sweetness and chocolate depth — the foundation for that full, rounded body. The Ethiopian component lifts it with vanilla softness and a gentle berry brightness, adding just enough fruit to keep things interesting.

Roasted medium-dark in our Kuala Lumpur roastery, the blend is built to stay smooth and low in acidity — the kind of coffee that holds up beautifully under milk and forgives small mistakes in your routine. It is comfort in a cup, made for slow weekend mornings and afternoon breaks.

How to Brew Canelé

Espresso 1:1 ratio — 18g in, 18g out, pulled for milk-based drinks
Filter 1:13 ratio at 93°C

If your espresso tastes sharp or thin, grind a touch finer; if it runs bitter, go slightly coarser. For filter, a 1:13 ratio keeps the body rich without muting the sweetness.

How Much Coffee Is in a Bag?

At 15g a cup, a 300g bag makes about 20 cups, or RM1.75 a cup. Two 300g bags make about 40 cups at about RM1.63 a cup, and the 1kg bag stretches to about 66 cups at RM1.65 a cup. The recipes above use 18g for a fuller cup, so expect a few cups fewer if you brew that way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Canelé better for espresso or filter?
Espresso, especially with milk. It is built as a 1:1 espresso blend that shines in lattes and cappuccinos, but it also brews a smooth, full-bodied filter at a 1:13 ratio.

What does Canelé taste like?
Vanilla, caramel and ripe berries over a soft chocolate finish. The body is full and velvety with very low acidity, so it drinks smooth and sweet rather than bright or tangy.

Does it work well with milk?
Yes. The caramel-chocolate depth and full body cut cleanly through milk, making it a natural fit for lattes, flat whites and cappuccinos.

How fresh is it?
We roast to order in Kuala Lumpur, and every bag ships within 24 hours of roasting.

Do you offer free shipping?
Yes — free shipping within Peninsular Malaysia on orders from RM80 (RM150 for East Malaysia).
