It all began at the beginning of the 20th century, specifically in 1907, with the great dream of Mr. Julián Marcilla, who wanted everyone to be able to enjoy the excellent aroma of Marcilla coffee.

As a good master roaster, Mr. Marcilla roasted his coffee over low heat in a small drum and then sold it directly to his customers. While some acquired it in their small factory in the San Andrés neighborhood of Barcelona, the majority were taken personally to their own home.

Since then, for more than 100 years, Marcilla has always been present in the daily lives of millions of Spaniards, sharing many moments, witnessing many changes, but what has never changed is that she has always been in the important moments, being faithful to its origins and its founder, becoming the leading brand of ground coffee nationwide.

 The coffee

You cannot imagine a world without coffee. Coffee is the essential ingredient to have a good day and culturally allows you to connect with the people you love the most. For the Spanish, coffee has come to play an important role in two moments of the day:

• In the morning : it is the awakening and the beginning of a new day. Its aroma is a familiar icon of comfort and safety.
• After eating : it is the trigger for a relaxed and pleasant conversation around the table.
