Descripción
Taste Story
This stellar lot from Ethiopia’s Guji region is lush, fruity and lively. It opens with a strong punch of berry flavor sensations, most notably strawberry. A nice tropical vibe underlays the entire drinking experience. Pineapple, passion fruit and mango are most prominent. These intense flavors come in a silky smooth package with floral vibes in the finish. You’ll love this amazing natural processed lot.
Processing Journey
For this lot, hand harvested cherries are delivered to the Derara Station processing mill, and are carefully sorted. The cherries are then spread on raised beds to sun dry. The cherries are raked and rotated constantly to ensure even drying. The cherries dry for up to 22 days before final processing to remove the outer mucilage.
Farmer Profile
About 800 farmers of the Uraga region deliver their cherries to the Derara processing station. Derara Station is a part of acclaimed coffee producer Daye Bensa’s network of processing mills. Daye Bensa’s drive for excellence pushes the local farmers to thoughtfully cultivate amazing coffee. Smallholder farmers are extremely vital to Ethiopia’s coffee industry, so we look to honor their hard work with thoughtful roasting profiles that allow the beauty of the coffee to shine.
