WLRH Blends

The Kaffeeklatsch has enjoyed a long-time relationship with WLRH Huntsville Public Radio. WLRH was first established in The Huntsville Times building downtown in 1976, just a few blocks away from our store and only a few months after we first opened! Grant and Kathryn still recollect the workers stopping by for cups of coffee back when they were just a cafe.

We’re happy to say they are still enjoying our coffees at the station even if they can’t walk over anymore! Try our classic WLRH Morning Blend or one of WLRH’s Personal Blends:

About WLRH-

WLRH was launched on October 13, 1976. It is Alabama’s first full-service public radio station. WLRH is a non-commercial public radio station with the primary mission of supporting education, the arts and community service in the Tennessee Valley. WLRH is also an affiliate for programming from several national sources such as Public Radio Exchange, American Public Media and about a dozen others. Offices and studios are located on the campus of the University of Alabama in Huntsville, but there is no formal affiliation between WLRH and UAH. WLRH is licensed to the Alabama Educational Television Commission, which also holds the license to Alabama Public Television.

WLRH operates on 89.3 megaHertz FM with 100,000 watts of stereo power, covering a service area roughly 60 miles in all directions from its transmitter on Monte Sano Mountain, including north central Alabama and south central Tennessee. WLRH broadcasts three HD channels. HD1 is a digital version of the main WLRH signal. HD2 is a 24-hour classical music service. HD3 provides news, talk and variety programs. You can listen to these HD channels using an HD radio, online, or on their mobile app. WLRH offers 11 local shows, including Valley Sounds, Arts Underground, Reelin’ in the Years, and more! Most of the funding for WLRH comes from listener contributions, with additional support from underwriters, and the State of Alabama.
