Description

This tree-dried Cerredo Natural from Daterra estate is exceptionally sweet, nutty, and comfortable.

As an espresso, it expresses rich dark chocolate, almond, and roasted hazelnut. Want to up the coziness factor? Add some milk and the creaminess blooms with milk chocolate and caramel, coating your mouth with the luxurious texture of vanilla ice cream.

Daterra Estate
One might say the consistency and comfortability of this coffee is a sort of mirror of our relationship with the producer. What started with a blind cupping and an unconventional hybrid (Aramosa) varietal from their Masterpiece series in 2020, blossomed into a beautiful 6 year friendship that brings Full Bloom to our shelves year after year. So, this coffee is a comfort to us just as much as it is to you. (Check out the evolution of our partnership on our blog!)

We love Daterra for their unwavering commitment to quality and sustainability throughout their practices. They were the first Brazilian coffee farm to be Rainforest Alliance and ISO 14001 certified and are committed to selling coffee only to sustainability-certified importers. Over half of their land is dedicated to conservation practices, including planting native trees and generating organic compost. They also share crucial knowledge with smaller producers to support their growth and to further advance their ethos: “to produce high quality coffee in harmony with nature.”

To create their coffee profiles, such as Full Bloom, cherries are collected from various carefully monitored geo-locations of the farm, and from the top, middle, and bottom of the plants, and blended together to create the perfect profile.

Cerredo
In the tree-dried 'Cerredo' natural process, cherries are left on the trees for a longer time, allowing them to go through the full maturation process and dry while still attached to the branch. This processing technique is only possible if the weather is very dry and stable during harvest - in fact, in many regions, allowing coffee to dry on tree could be a big problem: the excess moisture can develop fungus and other microorganisms. Because of Cerrado’s unique traits, this process is possible - which is great, because it brings very positive attributes to the cup: tree-dried naturals usually show heavy body and extra-intense sweetness.
