Tropical notes of ripe mango and lychee unfold, giving the espresso complex acidity, depth, and structure. The finish is smooth, sweet, and long-lasting, with notes of milk chocolate and caramel, along with a subtle, characteristic funky note from the natural process.

This natural lot comes from Lalesa, one of the best coffee-growing regions in Ethiopia’s Gedeo Zone. The cherries are sourced from smallholder farmers in the area around Lalesa Washing Station and carefully sorted before drying.

In the natural process, whole coffee cherries are dried, allowing their fruity flavors and natural sweetness to develop especially intensely. The result is a lively, fruit-forward coffee with plenty of sweetness and depth.

Lalesa Washing Station is located in Gedeo, a region known for outstanding coffees and its dense natural vegetation. The coffee grows beneath a diverse canopy of shade trees, including the False Banana, which is typical of the region. This creates a biodiverse, natural growing environment.

The washing station was founded in 2018 by Alemayehu Tilahun, who has worked in coffee for nearly 20 years. He maintains close, long-term relationships with smallholder farmers in the surrounding communities.
