Caffeine is a natural substance found in many different plants, but primarily in the coffee plant. It has a stimulating effect and is therefore not suitable for everyone or at all times.

SWISS WATER® means Swiss water and is a registered trademark. This method was first used in Switzerland in 1933 and is based on using water as a solvent to remove caffeine.

However, that is no reason to give up coffee altogether. Decaffeinated coffee was developed specifically for people who do not consume caffeine or want to avoid its stimulating effects. Many different chemical processes were developed to decaffeinate coffee, but we rejected them, as our decaffeinated coffees use exclusively the natural «Swiss Water Process», a natural sustainability seal.

No chemicals are used during this process, only pure water. This preserves the coffee's original character, including all its flavor and aroma. This process removes 99.9% of the caffeine from the coffee.

Arabica is a higher-quality variety than Robusta, mainly because it has less caffeine, is gentler on the stomach, and is much more highly valued for its sensory qualities. We roast the coffee by hand in limited quantities, without sugar.
