  • For several years, Sertao has been the espresso we serve in our cafes in Frankfurt. It’s just as delightful as a decaf, with its familiar balance of a nutty, chocolatey body, lovely sweetness, and pleasantly classic espresso profile. For this decaffeinated version, the same green coffee is decaffeinated particularly gently using natural spring carbon dioxide. This preserves much of the character that makes Sertao so dependable for us. Sertao Decaf works wonderfully as an espresso and also holds its own beautifully in milk drinks.

  • For several years, we’ve been delighted by the green coffees grown over generations by the Pereira family in the Carmo de Minas region of Brazil. The coffee cherries for Sertao grow at an altitude of 1,100 to 1,450 meters across 330 hectares. They are harvested between June and August and then processed as a natural. For the decaf version, the green coffee is then decaffeinated for us in Bremen using the Carbonic-Natural™ process. Natural spring carbon dioxide gently removes the caffeine from the bean.
