  • This coffee stands out for its pronounced sweetness, highlighted by a restrained acidity. With notes of walnut and maple syrup, it delivers a classic flavor profile of dry-processed Brazilian coffees and is an enjoyable choice for any occasion. It’s sure to win over fans of more traditional coffees, too. As the name suggests, Red Catuaí cherries are red and are fairly typical of Brazilian coffees; this is the most widely grown variety here. It continues to be popular in Brazil because it produces excellent quality coffees.

  • The coffee is grown in Sul de Minas, the southernmost region in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. The climate resulting from its location makes this the most important state for coffee cultivation, accounting for around 70% of all Brazilian Arabica production. Average temperatures range from 17 to 24 degrees Celsius, making the climate nearly perfect for growing Arabica. Fazenda Passeio is one of the larger farms in the state. It has been family-owned for four generations, and Adolfo Henrique Vieira Ferreira, the farm manager, places a strong emphasis on the social welfare of his employees. He pays bonuses, supports the provision of infrastructure for their families, and provides opportunities for professional development. Because most of Fazenda’s land is sloped, harvesting machines cannot be used, so the coffee cherries are hand-picked—unusual for Brazilian coffee production. Adolfo believes the extra labor has a positive impact on the coffee’s quality!
