GABINO PÉREZ PÉREZ. THE PRODUCER OF THIS SPECIALTY COFFEE

Gabino Pérez Pérez is the farmer who planted and harvested these specialty coffee beans. Gabino was born in the ejido of Pavencul, in Chiapas, and proudly preserves the identity of his Indigenous ancestors.

Gabino worked in coffee fields in the area from a young age. Little by little, and with a lot of hard work, he bought the plots where he now grows specialty coffee. Today, at 70 years old, he has more than 55 years of experience. His influence on his community and family has been profound. Gabino has passed on his experience to both his children and members of his community, and thanks to his example, more farmers in the region have taken up specialty coffee production.

ORIGIN: PAVENCUL, CHIAPAS

The community of Pavencul is located in the Soconusco region, nestled in the Sierra Madre de Chiapas. It is one of the most beautiful and remote communities in the municipality of Tapachula, to which Pavencul belongs.

Most of its population is Indigenous, belonging to the Maya Mam ethnic group.

The coffee trees grow in a privileged location, at an altitude of 1,900 meters above sea level. The rugged land lies on mountain slopes and beneath the shade of other trees, preserving the biodiversity of the surrounding area. In addition, the region's volcanic soils add special value to the specialty coffee harvested on its farms.

Enjoy this specialty coffee, whole bean or ground, with your favorite brewing method!
