Description

Milk Chocolate | Green Apple | Toffee | Caramel | Almond

Roast Level: Medium

Mexico has a long history of coffee production, and El Cuarenteno is a lovely example of the variety of coffees the country has to offer.

Produced by Grupo Terruño Nayarita, this washed coffee combines the familiar sweetness of milk chocolate, toffee and caramel with almond and green apple tasting notes.

We've chosen a medium roast to showcase its character without taking the roast too dark.

For those who enjoy chocolatey, caramel-led coffees but fancy exploring something with a little more complexity, El Cuarenteno is certainly worth a try.

Recommended Brew Methods

Espresso ★★★★★
A promising option for exploring the milk chocolate, toffee and caramel notes.

AeroPress ★★★★★
An excellent starting point for experimenting with this coffee's sweeter characteristics and green apple notes.

Flat White / Cappuccino / Latte ★★★★★
The milk chocolate, caramel and almond tasting notes make this an appealing candidate for milk-based coffees.

V60 / Pour Over ★★★★☆
Worth trying for those who want to explore the contrast between the sweeter notes and green apple.

Cafetière ★★★★☆
A good option for anyone who prefers a fuller-bodied, straightforward brewing method.

Our Pick: Flat White

We'd be tempted to make this one into a flat white. With milk chocolate, toffee, caramel and almond in the tasting notes, it has the sort of flavour profile we'd love to explore with milk. The green apple note adds an interesting contrast, too.

Freshly roasted in small batches at our Wiltshire roastery.

We always recommend buying whole bean coffee as this is the best for freshness. We are however happy to grind our coffee to your specification if this is how you would prefer it. Please note, we only supply ground coffee in 227g and 500g bags.

As a small independent roastery, we occasionally adjust prices to reflect rising costs and to continue roasting responsibly. Existing subscriptions are unaffected.
