Description

Colombia – Finca El Faldon – Diego Felipe Leguizamo

Diego Felipe Leguizamo is the son of legendary coffee producer Arnulfo Leguizamo.

Arnulfo is exactly what every coffee grower in Colombia should aspire to be: As a member of Asociación Los Naranjos, he is a leader in his community and supports his fellow coffee farmers in improving their quality. In 2011, he won first prize at the Cup of Excellence with coffee from this farm. He continues to be a hardworking, approachable, and generous producer and an inspiration to others, including his son Diego, whose name is on this lot because he has taken over the management of Finca El Faldón alongside his father. Diego trained as a cupper and hopes to take responsibility for the operation in the future—a coffee family spanning several generations.

Finca El Faldón is managed by Luis Felipe, Arnulfo, and Arnulfo’s son Diego. This lot comes from a section of the farm that Diego cultivates.

In 2024, we offered coffee from Arnulfo for the first time. In February 2026, we traveled to Colombia. During the cuppings there, the coffees from Finca El Faldon repeatedly stood out, so we were especially looking forward to visiting the farm. We were warmly welcomed there by Arnulfo and his family. Over lunch on the farm, we discussed current developments and challenges facing coffee producers in Colombia, where the family is generally optimistic about the future of coffee. Finally, Diego, Luis Felipe, and Arnulfo showed us around the beautiful farm. All of the cultivation and processing here are carried out with great care. The whole family loves and lives specialty coffee—and you can taste it!
