Description

Our new organic coffee comes from the Guji region, south of Yirgacheffe in western Ethiopia. Expect floral notes and a fruity-sweet bouquet with a juicy, lemony finish. Paired with a light body and delicate acidity, it makes for a balanced, fresh cup.

The Kuru Cooperative works to the highest standards and is certified organic. The cherries are hand-picked in several rounds. Only fully ripe fruit is good enough for processing. That’s essential for great flavor. The coffee is then fermented for around 36–48 hours and washed. The green beans are subsequently dried naturally in the sun on African drying beds.

The coffee passes through many hands along the way: the beans are carefully inspected again and again, and any defects are removed. The end result speaks for itself. Thanks to the hard work of the Kuru farmers, this fragrant, floral coffee is one we keep coming back to—whether brewed as filter coffee, espresso, or in a French press.

What’s included in the price?

The chart shows how the price of a 1 kg bag of Guji breaks down (average costs from January to June 2026, according to the BWA), and the additional external environmental costs per kg that are not included in the retail price.
