Introducing our Freedom Coffee from Huila, Colombia
Named after the Tatacoa Desert, this coffee embodies the spirit of resilience and vibrancy that defines this land and its people. In the heart of Huila, the coffees that are part of this wonderful regional blend are blessed by the fertile soils of the region and the equatorial sun. This region is not only known for its exceptional coffee but also for its culture and passion. This blend has been created to demonstrate the complexity and richness of this captivating region. Celebrating the heritage, culture, and unparalleled quality of Huila’s finest coffee.
The name ‘Tatacoa’ refers to the rattlesnakes that once lived in the region, and the area is sometimes known as the rather more poetic “Valley of Sadnesses”. It is the second largest desert in Colombia, and a land of mystery and astonishing silence.
Farmed by 60 small holder farmers, this coffee is a totem for the region of Huila and unlike its poetic name sake, is a joyful reflection of this region’s masterful art of growing consistently outstanding speciality coffee.
This lot has a subtle taste of brown sugar, a touch citrus and an indulgence of caramel. This bean is a perfect espresso for the experienced coffee lover but also cups well as a filter or emersion brew.
