Description

This aromatic single-origin espresso tastes bold and chocolatey, with bright notes of wild honey and sweet cane sugar. Its flavors blend harmoniously, giving this balanced coffee a unique character. This single-variety Catuai comes from the picturesque Finca Lérida in Panama, where we have sourced coffee directly for four years. Finca Lérida is world-famous not only for its award-winning Geishas, but also grows particularly aromatic Catuai in its fantastic microclimate. We roast these single-variety beans to a balanced, well-developed profile to bring out their chocolatey honey sweetness. This coffee reveals its distinctive flavor profile as a straight espresso, and its intense aroma also makes it an excellent choice for all milk-based drinks.

Only the ripest fruit is hand-picked for this high-quality coffee, with each bush harvested up to eight times to ensure all the beans reach optimal sweetness. The coffee cherries are then depulped, thoroughly washed, and gently air-dried, turned constantly throughout. Finca Lérida is located in Boquete, and anyone who has the chance to visit this farm can feel the magic of this place amid the Panamanian rainforest. It is a women-run farm, and their attention to detail is evident everywhere. Maria Amoruso grew up in Boquete as the oldest of five siblings and, as a young girl, planted coffee plants with her grandfather and helped him process the coffee. She always dreamed of having her own farm, and when Finca Lérida came up for sale in 2009, she brought this special place, with one of the best locations for growing coffee, back to life and quickly gained worldwide recognition for her high-quality coffee.
