Description

Brown Sugar | Nutty | Green Apple | Fruity Sweetness | Raspberry

Roast Level: Medium

Peru produces some wonderful speciality coffees, and El Oso is a lovely example of just how interesting they can be.

Produced by Cooperativa Agraria Frontera San Ignacio Ltda, this washed coffee offers a vibrant combination of fruit-led tasting notes, bringing together green apple, peach and kiwi with grapefruit and raspberry.

Our carefully developed medium roast brings out additional notes of brown sugar and a gentle nuttiness, adding a lovely sweetness and depth to the coffee's naturally fruity character.

The result is an intriguing balance of bright fruit notes and comforting sweetness, creating a coffee that's both interesting to explore and wonderfully enjoyable to drink.

For anyone who loves a coffee with character, but appreciates a little sweetness and balance alongside those vibrant fruit notes, El Oso is certainly worth discovering.

Recommended Brew Methods

V60 / Pour Over ★★★★★
Our first choice for exploring El Oso's fruit-led character, with the additional brown sugar sweetness bringing a lovely balance to the cup.

AeroPress ★★★★★
A versatile way to enjoy this coffee, particularly for exploring the interplay between its fruity, sweet and nutty characteristics.

Cafetière ★★★★☆
A fuller-bodied brewing option that we'd be interested in trying to showcase the roast-developed sweetness and nuttiness.

Espresso ★★★★☆
An interesting option for anyone who enjoys fruit-forward espresso with some additional sweetness and depth.

Flat White / Cappuccino / Latte ★★★☆☆
Worth exploring for milk-coffee drinkers who enjoy a brighter flavour profile alongside sweeter, nutty notes.

Our Pick: V60 / Pour Over

We'd still reach for the V60 with this one. The green apple, peach, kiwi, grapefruit and raspberry give El Oso plenty of character, while our medium roast introduces brown sugar sweetness and a gentle nuttiness. It's the sort of coffee we'd want to enjoy slowly, noticing how those different characteristics come through as the cup cools.

Freshly roasted in small batches at our Wiltshire roastery.

We always recommend buying whole bean coffee as this is the best for freshness. We are however happy to grind our coffee to your specification if this is how you would prefer it. Please note, we only supply ground coffee in 227g and 500g bags.

As a small independent roastery, we occasionally adjust prices to reflect rising costs and to continue roasting responsibly. Existing subscriptions are unaffected.
