Origin
This specialty coffee grows in the Himalayan country between India and China. It comes from the Nuwakot region in the Himalayan belt, south of the Ganesh Himal range and west of Mount Everest. Caturra, an Arabica variety, grows at an altitude of 2,200 to 2,400 meters and is organically grown, hand-sorted, and washed in “snow water.” The fact that coffee can grow here is thanks to the unusual circumstance that this valley is frost-free.
This was once a rice farm, which was abandoned and has now become a coffee plantation. Reforestation has turned the area back into a jungle, whose trees provide shade for the coffee shrubs. It is also an excellent environment for animals—rare leopards have even been spotted. Naturally, there is also a social project behind this, which enables local people—especially women—to receive training and find employment.

Character
This truly special medium-bodied coffee impresses with its full aroma, delicate spice, a hint of chocolate and fruit notes, light nutty tones, and a tea-like finish. Certainly one of the finest coffees in the world.
Milk chocolate, almond, peach, candied orange, forest honey, black tea
