Monte Cristobal – A roast specifically for fully automatic coffee machines

Colombia Monte Cristobal is a wonderfully balanced coffee from the Colombian highlands. We roast it a little darker for you, making it perfectly suited to enjoying from a fully automatic coffee machine.
This 100% Arabica from the Huila region is a more refined and lighter counterpart to our Monte Avanzada – Fully Automatic Machine Blend. Our roasters have specially developed it for all fully automatic coffee machines that can also brew filter coffee, and our Monte Cristobal offers a truly exquisite, top-quality taste experience. It also tastes wonderful as an espresso – lighter and less powerful than Monte Avanzada, a blend with Robusta. Its flavor profile is broader overall and excellently balanced. Monte Cristobal impresses with clear notes of the finest cocoa, rich hazelnuts, and a sweet, caramel-like background. It’s fantastic enjoyed on its own, but its character also shines in plant-based milk drinks.

Monte Cristobal – Solidarity in Action

The Colombian community of Iquira – right in the heart of Huila, on the foothills of the Nevado del Huila volcano – offers ideal conditions for coffee production, including its mountainous landscape, volcanic soil, and suitable altitude and temperatures. The agricultural association La Union de Villa Maria represents coffee producers in this region, consolidating production and trade and pooling organizational resources to reach a larger market for their coffees. Within this cooperative, a group of women producers has come together to form an all-women cooperative. We source the beans for our Monte Cristobal from them. They market their coffees together and support each other across all key aspects of production and trade. Nevertheless, they all continue to run their own farms independently. Some of the women have been solely responsible for their plantations from the beginning; others took on that responsibility only after their husbands passed away or because of other twists of fate.

Through their collaborative work and the sharing of knowledge and resources, they develop their farming skills, greatly improve the quality of their coffees, and naturally achieve higher prices for them in the market. This has a significant impact on their quality of life, as well as that of their families and employees in these rural areas of Colombia. Beyond that, solidarity in action ultimately has a positive impact on every area of life!

We at 24grad are proud and happy to present this wonderful coffee to you and, in doing so, to support this great project.
