Description
The farm covers a total of 1,400 hectares, about 200 of which are devoted to coffee cultivation
while the rest is used for livestock farming. Fazenda Aliança is located at elevations between 850 and 1,100 m.a.s.l. and produces an average of 8,000 bags of
coffee per year.
Careful management of seed selection, as well as the cultivation and processing processes,
allows Fazenda Aliança to consistently produce some of the best coffees in the region.
Focused primarily on growing Catuais, its coffees feature the sweet and fruity characteristics
typical of the variety.
Records of Fazenda Aliança date back to 1882, although it is generally
believed to have been used as a coffee farm even earlier. In 1986, Renato
Ishikawa acquired the farm, and over the following years Fazenda Aliança underwent an
extensive process of renovation, development, and technological modernization.
During this process, the area used for coffee cultivation was expanded, and comprehensive
quality controls were introduced.
Every parameter, from seed selection and seedling preparation to new planting and cultivation
techniques and the harvesting of coffee beans, is carefully controlled. Renato has managed to build on the farm's more than 100-year tradition with
modern production and management methods, producing
coffees of unique quality that fully showcase the distinctive characteristics of the Mogiana region.
Sustainability is a priority throughout this process, and all coffees are produced
in an environmentally responsible way—from careful monitoring of natural resources
and preserving native flora and fauna to treating and
recycling the wastewater generated during coffee processing. In addition,
Renato supports many programs that benefit the well-being of his employees and the
community, and has initiated several environmental projects to preserve
the region's biodiversity.
