Kenia – Sukari

Nyeri County is one of the world's most famous coffee-producing regions. It is located on the southwestern slopes of Mount Kenya. The Kiama Farmers Cooperative Society is based in Nyeri and consists of more than 3,000 members who deliver their coffee cherries, grown in the fertile volcanic soil characteristic of the region.

The cooperative was founded in 2009 and supported by the government to meet the needs of Kenyan coffee farmers, giving them greater control over marketing and their own production.

Facilities such as Ndaroini, where this coffee is processed, allow producers to obtain very high-quality harvests. The society also offers transportation, accounting, administrative services, and access to seeds for growing.

The roast brings out an incredibly sweet, fruity fragrance. The characteristic acidity of Kenyan coffee is softened by raspberry notes, with a medium, creamy body. This is a very versatile coffee, ideal for filter brewing methods such as Chemex, AeroPress, V60, and French press, as well as for espresso.
