In the lush forests of southern India, across the regions of Coorg, Chickmagalur, and Hassan, grows one of the finest Robusta coffees in the world: Kaapi Royale.
Here, the plantations thrive beneath the shade of ancient trees in biodiverse ecosystems, where coffee grows alongside spices such as pepper, cardamom, nutmeg, and vanilla. This natural coexistence leaves a clear mark on the coffee’s aromatic profile, helping define its deep, spicy character. Altitudes of 900 to 1,100 meters, together with mild temperatures and well-distributed rainfall, allow the cherries to ripen slowly and evenly. They are then processed using the washed method, a rare practice for Robusta, but one that is key to producing a clean, refined, well-balanced cup.
The varieties grown—Peredinja, CXR, and 74—are carefully selected to ensure a dense, creamy body, low acidity, and a sensory profile that blends dark chocolate, licorice, and Eastern spices in a rich, bold embrace.
