Description

Ethiopian Guji Coffee – Kayon Mountain

Bright, sweet, and beautifully balanced, our Ethiopian Guji coffee is a single-origin medium roast from the Kayon Mountain growing region of Ethiopia. With notes of cacao, hazelnut, and raspberry, it offers a lively, fruit-forward cup with a smooth, satisfying finish.

Grown at high elevations beneath a natural forest canopy, this coffee reflects the careful cultivation and traditional processing methods that make Ethiopian coffees so distinctive.

Tasting Notes

Cacao | Hazelnut | Raspberry | Natural Sweetness

Gentle chocolate depth and nutty warmth provide the foundation, while raspberry-like fruit adds brightness. The result is a layered, naturally sweet coffee with lively acidity and a clean finish.

Ethiopian Guji Origin & Craft

Our Ethiopian Guji comes from the Guji zone of southern Ethiopia, where the Kayon Mountain growing area sits at elevations of approximately 1,900–2,200 meters.

Here, coffee grows beneath native shade trees in rich soil. Traditional agroforestry practices help preserve biodiversity, protect the land, and provide habitat for birds and other wildlife.

During harvest, ripe coffee cherries are carefully handpicked and sorted. The coffee is then naturally processed, with whole cherries dried on raised beds and turned regularly. This method helps develop the fruit-forward sweetness and complexity that make Guji coffees so memorable.

Sourced from certified organic and fair trade farms and roasted by a certified organic and fair trade roaster, this coffee brings together careful farming, traditional craftsmanship, and a distinctive regional character.

In Your Cup

Ethiopian Guji is a wonderful choice for coffee drinkers who enjoy a little complexity without an overpowering roast.

Its cacao and hazelnut notes offer comforting depth, while the raspberry-like fruit gives each sip a bright, refreshing lift.

Enjoy it as a pour-over to explore its layered flavors, brew it as your everyday cup, or try it cold brewed for a refreshing change.
