Description

With over 200 million residents and a total area of approximately 8 million km²,
Brazil is the largest country in South America. Along with soybeans, sugarcane, steel, aluminum, and other goods, coffee is one of the country’s most important exports.
Brazil is the world’s largest coffee producer, ahead of countries such as Colombia and Indonesia. Arabica beans are grown primarily in Brazil, while only a small share—about 20%—is dedicated to Robusta. Fazenda Lagoa lies in the heart of Minas Gerais, nestled among softly rolling hills, lakes, and fertile farmland. The great-grandfather of current owner Marcelo Vieira established his first plantation here, at an altitude between 950 and 1,200 meters. The original farmhouse still stands today! Fazenda Lagoa covers 300 hectares of cultivated land and is surrounded by 600 hectares of protected natural forest, home to hundreds of bird species. Ornithologists from around the world visit each year to observe the rarest birds! The ecological conditions and traditional farming methods, unchanged for over 100 years, are the basis for successful coffee cultivation. The high elevation for Brazil and the climate—with distinct seasons—result in a harmonious, very subtle acidity. The careful harvest and natural processing of Fazenda Lagoa coffee bring out an exquisite, light chocolate note. Strict, ongoing quality control throughout the ripening and processing stages, along with careful selection of the best lots, results in a small but exceptionally high-quality harvest.

Approx. 50% Brazil Fazenda Lagoa
Approx. 50% Robusta
