Description

Dark Roast Coffee is our boldest blend - a carefully crafted combination of high-quality Arabica beans from Colombia, Guatemala, and Sumatra, roasted to their darkest expression. The result is a pungent, full-bodied cup with pronounced notes of smoke, dark chocolate, and caramel - intensely satisfying from the first sip to the last.

Despite its bold character, this blend clocks in at a pH of 5.4 - making it a naturally low acid coffee that's easier on the stomach than most dark roasts. Kosher certified and roasted fresh to order.

The Blend Behind the Bold Dark Roast Coffee

Each origin in this blend plays a distinct role:

  • Colombia - contributes sweetness, body, and caramel depth
  • Guatemala - adds complexity, subtle smokiness, and structure
  • Sumatra - brings earthy richness, low acidity, and a heavy, syrupy body

Together, they create a cup that's greater than the sum of its parts - dark, complex, and deeply aromatic.

Why Dark Roast Coffee is Low Acid?

Darker roasts naturally break down more of the chlorogenic acids present in coffee beans - which is why our Dark Roast blend registers at pH 5.4, lower than most standard coffees. If you love bold coffee but find it hard on your stomach, this is the blend for you.

Brewing Tips for Dark Roast Coffee

  • French Press - ideal for extracting the full body and oils of a dark roast; brew 4 minutes and press slowly
  • Drip - use a slightly coarser grind and filtered water to avoid bitterness
  • Espresso - delivers a thick, rich shot with a natural dark chocolate finish
  • Cold Brew - dark roasts shine in cold brew; steep 12-18 hours for a smooth, low-acid concentrate

Also available in:
- Low Acid Dark Roast Coffee - same bold profile, explicitly formulated for sensitive stomachs
- Dark Roast Decaf Coffee - all the boldness, none of the caffeine
