Description

A delicious decaf coffee with notes of plum, nuts, milk chocolate, and apple. If you have a hard time finding a decaf coffee you find flavorful and satisfying, this coffee is a must-try. A lovely medium roast, this coffee is well-rounded, with notes of acidity that work wonderfully as an espresso or in your coffee maker.

This coffee underwent a decaffeination process at the farm called “sugarcane decaffeination,” but what exactly does that mean?
Coffees that undergo the sugarcane decaffeination process go through the following steps:
1. Steam treatment. The first step is exposing the bean to steam to open its membranes and facilitate the subsequent extraction of caffeine.
2. Extraction. The bean is immersed in a solution of ethyl acetate, a selective caffeine extractant. The caffeine in the coffee bean then migrates into the liquid solvent, which is transferred to another tank. At this stage, the caffeine-rich ethyl acetate is filtered and reintroduced into the process to extract more caffeine from the bean, until the residual caffeine level reaches 0.01%.
3. The pure caffeine is separated.
4. Drying. The drying process is carried out in vacuum dryers, allowing for quick, even drying.
5. Cooling silo, a ventilated silo designed to lower the temperature and prevent the coffee from losing moisture.
6. Bean polishing
