Forest Coffee Reforest Project, Supporting the Future of Colombian Coffee

At Forest Coffee, we believe great coffee starts with healthy coffee-growing communities and a thriving natural environment. The Reforest Project is our hands-on commitment to climate action, sustainable coffee farming and supporting the future of Colombian coffee.

Coffee-growing regions across Colombia are facing increasing environmental challenges, including severe droughts, changing weather conditions and rising production costs. These challenges can affect both coffee quality and yields, while placing additional pressure on the farmers and communities who depend on coffee for their livelihoods.

The Forest Coffee Reforest Project aims to help build greater resilience within Colombia’s coffee-growing landscapes through native tree planting and sustainable farming practices.

Our goal is to plant 50,000 native trees across northern Tolima and southern Caldas, Colombia. The project began with an initial planting of 200 native trees across the farms of 30 local coffee producers near El Vergel Estate in Fresno, Tolima, helping to restore and strengthen the local coffee-growing ecosystem.

By planting native trees alongside coffee farms, the Reforest Project supports healthier landscapes while helping coffee-growing communities adapt to changing environmental conditions. Reforestation can contribute to biodiversity, healthier ecosystems and more resilient coffee-growing environments for future generations.
