ECUADOR – NANEGAL – HONEY

Description
Every now and then we get the privilege of cupping samples, whose flavors are as unique and unlikely as the story of how they came to be. These beans hail from Nanegal, Ecuador–just along the mountainous border of Columbia and are grown by husband and wife team Henry and Verena Gaibor. Among the many varieties they grow, this particular cultivar is truly unique given its origin story. Indigenous to Kenya, SL-28 found an unlikely home in the cool misty mountains of Ecuador. Unlike its Kenyan cousin, Ecuadorian SL-28 boasts less acidity all while maintaining the bright, fruity, velvety and mouth watering flavors the cultivar is known for. Indeed, Ecuador’s rich volcanic soil and unique biodiversity result in some of the best tasting coffee in the world.
