Limited Edition • Final Roast

Timor Leste Laklo is a riot of vibrant fruit flavours from one of Australia's closest coffee-growing neighbours. Naturally processed in the mountainous north, this exceptional micro-lot offers an aromatic bouquet of strawberry and tropical fruit, followed by a mouthwatering medley of watermelon, cherry, and sweet toffee apple in the cup. With a rounded medium body and crisp green apple acidity, it delivers an uplifting, balanced coffee experience from first sip to finish.

High-Altitude Shade Grown by 542 Smallholders

Timor Leste Laklo originates in the rugged mountain ranges of Aileu on the north side of the main island. These steep slopes are farmed by 542 smallholders who each manage small family parcels averaging around half a hectare in size.

Grown between 1,550 and 1,600 metres above sea level beneath the canopy of native casuarina trees, the coffee cherries develop slowly under cool shade. Once harvested at peak ripeness, the community lots are combined and sun-dried on raised beds, intensifying the natural sweetness and fruity complexity of the rare Timor varietal.

Exceptional Cupping Quality

Achieving a specialty grade cupping score of 85.25/100, this lot completely stood out on our cupping table for its remarkable clarity. Natural coffees can sometimes lean heavy, but the Laklo lot maintains a lively, refreshing green apple acidity and crisp finish that keeps it sweet and effortlessly drinkable.

Brewing Recommendations

Get the best out of this naturally processed single origin with these extraction suggestions:

1 Filter & Pour-Over (V60 or Chemex): A lighter extraction highlights the red fruit notes. Use a gentle, steady pour to draw out the delicate watermelon and strawberry flavours while maintaining a silky medium body. 2 Espresso with Milk: The natural toffee apple and dark cherry notes cut smoothly through steamed milk, creating a rich, dessert-style flat white or latte. 3 Grind Fresh Daily: Natural process coffees preserve delicate fruit oils best when ground immediately before extraction.
