Description

Named after the Batak people of the North Sumatran highlands, "Blue Batak" refers to the unique bluish-green hue of the raw beans before they are roasted. This coffee is grown in the small-holder gardens surrounding Lake Toba, the world’s largest volcanic lake. The nutrient-dense soil and the traditional wet-hulling process—where the parchment is removed while the bean still has a high moisture content—create a cup with unparalleled depth. This specific lot is meticulously "double-picked" by hand to ensure only the most uniform, high-quality beans make it into the final roast, resulting in a cleaner and more sophisticated profile than your average Sumatra.
