Description

Grown at an altitude of 1,000–1,250 meters on Cerro Bonetillo in Jinotega, Las Morenitas is one of four farms in the Las Nubes group, owned by Victor Robelo. The 180-hectare property (130 hectares of which are planted with coffee) is managed with exceptional care for its workers: pickers are paid more than twice the minimum wage paid by other producers in the area, each microlot has a dedicated team of 20 trained pickers, and the farm provides on-site housing, a school with evening classes, separate and safe spaces for single women, as well as a shared dining hall and laundry facilities. Pickers are trained to harvest only from the center of the branch, where Victor believes the best balance of light, shade, and sweetness can be found. The farm is Rainforest Alliance certified.

We roasted it especially for you with a medium roast profile to highlight its distinctive character, whatever your brewing method—espresso, pour-over, or moka pot.
