A Honey-Processed Malaysian Liberica — Honey, Nectarine & Walnut
Malaysia Johor Batu Pahat Bagan is a honey-processed Liberica single origin grown by House of Kendal in Bagan, Batu Pahat, Johor. The cherry skin is removed at picking and the beans rest in parchment through a slow, 2–3 week greenhouse dry — a process that builds a soothing sweetness and a layered cup, roasted medium for both espresso and filter.
Tasting Notes
Honey · Nectarine · Walnut
A layered cup — the sweetness of honey up front, nectarine and peach fruitiness through the middle, and a nutty walnut finish.

About This Coffee
This single-origin Liberica comes from Bagan, a coastal locality in the district of Batu Pahat — a few degrees above the equator, on clay soil with a peat topsoil, at an elevation of under 15 metres. House of Kendal has been reviving Liberica farms in the area that were largely abandoned for Oil Palm in the 1980s, growing the beans pesticide- and herbicide-free.
For this lot, the cherry skin is removed right after picking and the beans — still coated in their sticky parchment — are sun-dried slowly under a greenhouse for 2–3 weeks. That honey process is what gives the cup its soothing sweetness and layered structure: honey up front, nectarine and peach through the middle, and a lingering walnut finish.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Liberica coffee?
Liberica is a coffee species distinct from Arabica and Robusta, grown widely in Malaysia. It has a larger bean and a bold, full-bodied cup — here, layered with honey, nectarine and walnut.
Is this better for filter or espresso?
It's roasted medium and works well both ways — filter and pour-over bring out the nectarine sweetness, while espresso pulls a rounder, honey-forward shot.
What does it taste like?
Soothing and layered — honey sweetness up front, nectarine and peach fruitiness through the middle, and a nutty walnut finish.
How fresh is the coffee?
Roasted to order in Kuala Lumpur and shipped within 24 hours. It tastes best from 5–7 days after the roast date and stays good to about day 30.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes — free shipping within Peninsular Malaysia on orders from RM80.
