Java, Kayumas Village

Deep in the volcanic Ijen Plateau of East Java lies Kayumas Village, an area steeped in coffee history dating back to the late 17th century. This coffee is grown on one of the original government-owned "Blawan" style estates, where the high altitude and mineral-dense soil create a bean that is significantly more complex than standard Indonesian offerings. The Kayumas process is meticulous; unlike the "Wet-Hulled" method common in Sumatra, Java coffees are Fully Washed, resulting in a cleaner, heavier body that can withstand the intense heat of a Deep roast without losing its distinct character.
