Description

Quaffable Quintessential Central American… say that three times fast!

Tastes like:

Balanced with chocolate, caramel, and orange citrusy acidity. Round sweetness and a lasting finish, this roast profile was set to accentuate melting sugars into caramel and a lively acidity.

Notes and Notes:

WBCR waits impatiently every Spring for Los Dos Socios pre-ship samples to arrive at our quality control room. We already know it will be great and we can’t wait to taste and book it! We’ve been featuring Los Dos Socios for several years running and it’s a joy to bring you the 2026 lot. We think it’s never tasted better.

The very best way to drink this, in our opinion, is as a filter coffee. A brew via pourover or aeropress or even a Mr.Coffee machine adds the water ratio necessary  to open up the complexity of flavor and heady aroma. Taste it black first, and then decide if you really need the milk and sugar.

The Full Story:

Finca Los Dos Socios is located in the highlands of La Libertad, Huehuetenango. A second-generation farmer, Don Concepción Villatoro has been devoted to coffee his entire life, purchasing his first plot of land in 1990 and intentionally planting it with Bourbon and Caturra varieties.
The farm’s name, "Los Dos Socios" (The Two Associates), tells you everything you need to know about his motivation. When asked about it, "Don Concepción, who is the other partner? We only ever see you working here", he paused and smiled.

"Ah, you see, my partner provides everything," he explained.

"He is the one who provides the rich clay soils, the cool mountain air, and the abundant spring water that make this land so special. I only manage the resources…” He is clearly referencing the divine as his ultimate partner.
