In the far western reaches of Ethiopia, mere kilometers from the South Sudanese border, lie the dense, wildly sprouting jungles of West Omo zone.

It’s a place of stunning natural beauty, where from a high-extending plateau one can take in the expanse of the ancient, sprawling forest.

This breathtaking landscape is home to Gesha Village Coffee Estate, the 471-hectare coffee farm have built from the ground up over the last eleven years. This has been our labor of love, and they’re extremely proud to be producing coffees as awe-inspiring as their surroundings.

They meticulously selected, handpicked, floated and then the cherries were pulped and taken to a raised African beds to begin the drying process under shade for 10 days and transferred to the darkroom to complete the final drying.

This Honey Process Kenyan SL28 finished in the darkroom after ten days of shaded bed drying. Expressive black currant tones and molasses like sweetness run through the cup, framed by a zesty body and a bright line of citrus fruit.

The result is a layered profile with tightly knit jasmine honeysuckle, and caramelized sugars.
