Description
Gara Agena is a premier coffee station founded by Faysel Abdosh in 2020, dedicated exclusively to producing exceptional natural-process coffees.
In its inaugural year, a coffee processed at the station earned a prestigious Top 10 position in the Cup of Excellence.
Located beside the Geta River in Hayissa Olocho, Bura Woreda, the station benefits from the cool, high-altitude microclimate of the Karamo Mountains.
Beyond coffee, Faysel is committed to supporting the surrounding community through improved access to electricity, education, and clean water.
For this lot, Gara Agena selects 95% peak-ripe and 5% overripe cherries. The cherries are density-sorted, soaked for four hours to encourage sugar development, then slowly dried on raised beds for approximately 35 days under shade netting.
This careful process is designed to preserve clarity while developing deep sweetness and complexity.
This coffee is the 74158 variety, originally selected from the Bishari forest and released by the Jimma Agricultural Research Center in 1979.
74158 is celebrated for its floral character and vibrant fruit notes.
