Roasted specifically for espresso, this coffee is crafted to produce a rich, balanced cup with exceptional sweetness and a juicy, fruit-forward character. Notes of nectarine and clementine bring brightness to the cup, while caramel and chocolate syrup add depth and a smooth, lingering sweetness that shines both as a straight shot and paired with milk.

Sourced from the Katanda Coffee Washing Station in North Kivu, this washed coffee is produced by smallholder farmers in the Isale region near the northern end of Lake Kivu. Katanda is one of seven washing stations operated by Virunga Coffee Company, which works with farmers to improve coffee quality through agronomic education, careful processing, and investment in local infrastructure.

With high elevations, plentiful rainfall, and fertile volcanic soils, the region offers exceptional conditions for specialty Arabica. The coffee is sun-dried on raised beds and certified Organic and Rainforest Alliance, helping create better opportunities and premiums for the farmers who produce it.
