Description

Finca Las Mercedes is nestled in the heart of Costa Rica, among the lush mountains of Tarrazú, which is know for producing some of the world's finest coffees. As third-generation farmers, Mela Gamboa and Luis Rojas nurture every harvest with care and cultivate rich, natural flavors that reflect both tradition and passion.

The honey process begins by carefully removing the skin of the coffee cherry while leaving much of the sticky mucilage intact. As the beans dry with this golden layer still clinging to them, the natural sugars within the mucilage ferment and infuse the coffee with complexity. The result is a sweet, full-bodied cup with balanced fruit notes and a smooth, syrupy finish.

Costa Rica Honey Process Coffee is cultivated in the highlands of Costa Rica, where volcanic soil and cooler mountain air slow the ripening of each cherry, which causes the coffee to develop remarkable depth and character. During processing, part of the fruit's sticky mucilage is left on the bean as it dries, creating a cup with natural sweetness, lively acidity, and a smooth body. Grown in the Tarrazú region of Costa Rica and celebrated worldwide for producing exceptional coffee, this offering highlights the unique vibrancy of Costa Rica’s honey process.
