1. The world's largest producer
We're not talking about the size of the country here. Brazil's coffee production is enormous. The country is responsible for approximately one-third of the world's coffee production (making it by far the largest coffee producer and exporter). In 2015, it produced a total of 36.89 million 60 kg bags. Can you imagine how many cups of coffee that makes?
As such, the country's production and market behavior have a knock-on effect on international market prices, meaning that a drought in Brazil can lead to price increases for coffee around the world.
2. An underrated flavor profile
Most people go to Brazil for beans for espresso blends. And there's nothing wrong with that. However, this country has produced specialty-grade coffees time and time again.
What's more, single-origin coffees from Brazil aren't just “good enough.” They're distinctive, high-quality coffees. Brazilians typically have intense sweetness in the form of caramel and chocolate notes, full bodies, and relatively low acidity.
This low acidity is what sometimes makes people underestimate the quality of a Brazilian cup. But take a second sip and you'll find this flavor profile is surprisingly good.

3. Seriously diverse coffee: Brazilian Café Crema
Remember what we just said about Brazilian coffee being varied? We mean it. With fourteen major coffee-producing regions spread across seven states, Brazil's beans are a diverse mix. Check the information on your coffee bags; your coffee might be from Minas Gerais (Sul de Minas, Cerrado Mineiro, Chapada de Minas, Matas de Minas), São Paulo (Mogiana, Centro-Oeste), Espírito Santo (Montanhas do Espírito Santo, Conilon Capixaba), Bahia (Planalto da Bahia, Cerrado da Bahia, and Atlantico Baiano), Paraná (Norte Pionerio do Paraná), Rondonia, or even Rio de Janeiro.
Then there are the farms themselves, ranging from small family plantations of less than 10 hectares to large estates of more than 2,000 hectares.
4. Specialty-grade natural products
Most Brazilian coffees are natural (unwashed) or pulped natural (semi-washed). A natural processing method means that after the coffee cherries are picked, they are dried as they are, without removing the skin or mucilage.
5. A complex grading system
Compared with the coffee grading systems of most producing countries, Brazil's is very detailed. Coffees are graded according to screen size, color, and cup quality. This results in grades, from best to worst, of strictly soft, soft, soft, hard, riada, rio, and rio zona.
Café Cumbal Argentina's Brazilian café crema is an important part of Argentine culture and tradition. It's a thick, creamy coffee drink that's generally enjoyed after meals or as dessert. The blend used to make Brazilian café crema contains the finest beans from Brazil. This gives it a unique flavor profile that has made it popular among Argentinians for generations. For many people, drinking this type of coffee is an essential part of their daily routine.
