We have been traveling to Brazil almost every year to buy coffee since 2012. 

Since 2021, we have had a partner in Brazil, farmer Rafael Jacob, who took over Fazenda Santo André, with its 60 hectares of coffee, from his family. One of his first actions was to switch to organic farming. While looking for long-term partners, we were able to make contact through a mutual friend, and we are now very proud to be the first roastery outside Brazil able to roast his organic coffee. In addition to his commitment to organic farming, he is especially dedicated to bees and runs other social projects on his farm to provide refugees with a new home. We visited Rafael in 2022, 2024, and 2025, and are planning our next trip for June 2026.

This organic coffee is ideally suited to a balanced, sweet espresso, but can also be enjoyed as a chocolatey filter coffee. We roast this Brazilian coffee to a medium-light level. It has good, creamy body, pronounced sweetness, and mild acidity. Cocoa, milk chocolate, honey, and apricot dominate the flavor.
