Utamagro - Sumatra Coffee - Roasted in Scotland

Sumatra Organic: Fair Trade Single-Origin

Our organic Sumatra coffee traces back to dedicated smallholder farmers in the premier growing region of Central Aceh. Partnering with pioneering organizations like Harapan Bersama—certified organic since 2010 with over 2,700 acres cultivated by 1,000 artisan growers—this region consistently yields some of Indonesia's finest specialty beans.

This exceptional harvest is sourced directly from Mahara, a forward-thinking cooperative established in 2015 across the volcanic highlands of Gayo. Comprising 460 certified organic growers across five villages, Mahara operates 12 local purchasing stations to streamline harvest collection and transition toward centralized processing, maximizing cup clarity and quality.

Driven by an energetic board dedicated to community welfare and sustainable agriculture, Mahara crafts a distinctly rich, low-acid Indonesian coffee loaded with earthy depth, heavy body, and complex aromatic sweetness.
