Description

Our Masaba Espresso Light is a blend of washed Arabica coffee from various farms in the Bulambuli District on Masaba (Mount Elgon). Chocolatey and nutty notes predominate, and the coffee has low acidity. In terms of flavor, this light-roast espresso falls between our bold Single Farm roast and the Masaba Blend Espresso Dark.

At the moment, Masaba Blend Espresso Light is available in 1,000 g bags. You can also get this coffee loose at the café and try it by the cup there.

Masaba is what producers in the Bulambuli District call the dormant volcano on whose slopes they grow Arabica coffee. To refer to the mountain by its original name, we use this name as well. We now add the official name, “Mount Elgon,” which originated with the British occupation of Uganda in the late 19th century, only in parentheses.

Direct trade on equal terms

We personally buy the coffee directly from the producers in Uganda. We know the people behind the coffee, so we can trace where our coffee comes from and the conditions under which it is grown. Learn more about our philosophy here.

In addition, €5 from every kilo of roasted coffee sold goes toward projects grounded in scientific evidence, carried out together with our team on the ground. Your purchase directly helps bring about meaningful change in the region.
