This Kenyan microlot from Nyeri is known for its intensity, depth, and impressive clarity in the cup. The coffee comes from the fertile highlands between Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Mountains—one of the country's most renowned coffee regions. The deep red volcanic soils and cool climate at an elevation of around 1,900 m provide ideal conditions for slowly ripening coffee cherries with a complex flavor profile.

The coffee is processed at Kiamabara Coffee Factory, a cooperative that works closely with local smallholder farmers. The producers tend small plots and deliver their ripe cherries to a central processing facility. There, the coffee is traditionally washed, carefully fermented, washed, and dried on raised beds—a method typical of Kenya that ensures maximum clarity in the cup.

Taste profile

The cup reveals intense notes of cooked lime and toffee, accompanied by ripe plum and delicate caramel. A creamy texture meets pronounced sugary sweetness, leading to a long, juicy finish. Lively, complex, and wonderfully balanced.

Our Kiamabara Omni Roast works beautifully as a filter coffee with a clear acidity, but it also makes an elegant espresso or a fruity contrast in a cappuccino.
