Farm: Halo Beriti

Producer: Small local farmers

Region: Gedeo

ALTITUDE: 1900 masl

SPECIES: Arabica

VARIETY: Heirloom

PROCESSING: Natural – This exceptional lot comes from small local producers in the lush area around Halo Beriti. Young plants of wild varieties thrive in a perfect microclimate of sun and shade, in fertile, well-drained red soil at an altitude of about 1900 meters. Crop management follows traditional, sustainable farming practices, including hand weeding, maintenance pruning, and partial intercropping with legume plants that enrich the soil with organic matter. The annual yield is limited to about 6.5 quintals per hectare.

The cherries, meticulously hand-picked, are processed using the natural method. The process takes 12 to 15 days. Drying takes place on specially designed raised beds, and thanks to the use of shade nets, the
beans are protected during the sunniest hours, ensuring even drying.
