Finca El Pezote Cup of Excellence No.12 Single Origin Filter

The El Pezote farm got its name from a small animal called “Pezote” or “Mishasho” that lived on the farm. The original plan was to produce coffee associated with the Pezote, but this never came to fruition because the animal is protected. El Pezote Farm is located around La Palma, Chalatenango, at an elevation of 1,850 meters above sea level and has an ideal microclimate for specialty coffee. The high elevation and cold, cloudy climate lead to late-ripening coffee cherries. The harvest takes place in three passes, ensuring that only crimson-red, ripe cherries are picked.

For producer Hugo Pineda, it was a challenge because he had no traditional coffee-growing knowledge to draw on. Gathering information, doing research, and learning from his father and other coffee farmers eventually led him to grow specialty coffee. This award-winning El Salvador Cup of Excellence lot placed 12th in the 2024 competition. We are honored to roast this lot to perfection and offer it as a limited edition. We are sure this Pacamara, processed using washed and anaerobic fermentation methods, will be a truly remarkable experience.
