Description

Enjoy a great start to your day with coffee beans from Brazil. Our Bom Dia espresso beans accompany your morning with sweet and nutty aromas.

The beans for this single-origin coffee come from Fazenda São Domingos in the Mococa region of Brazil. We source the green coffee beans through Ocafi, a company run by Niklas from Freiburg and Luis from Brazil. We’ve been working with them for many years, and Mats visited them in Brazil in 2022. Through Ocafi, Niklas and Luis provide us with traceability and transparency and share our values of sustainability and social fairness.

Ocafi provides us with all the information about the coffees. This means we always know exactly what’s happening throughout the supply chain, from sustainable farming to pricing and fair wages for farm workers in Brazil. It’s important to all of us that people and nature are at the heart of production.

The Acaiá variety coffee trees grow at elevations of 810 to 950 meters above sea level and are known for their large coffee cherries and excellent flavor potential. The creamy texture and cup profile reminiscent of grape and nuts are enhanced by the “pulped natural” processing method developed in Brazil. Mechanical harvesting often results in unripe coffee cherries ending up in the containers, too. One major advantage of this method is that these can easily be sorted out. The fruit is pressed through a funnel, which removes the skin from the cherries, while the pulp remains attached to the bean. Since the skin is difficult to remove from unripe cherries, they can easily be sorted out. The beans are then dried with the pulp still attached. Once dry, they are fully hulled and prepared for export.
