Press Coffee

The Press Coffee story begins in 2008 with Steve Kraus and his wife Tram Mai who had a passion for great coffee. Not finding the quality they were looking for, they decided to start a specialty coffee shop of their own. Opening just months before the recession of 2008 Steve and his wife were tested from the very start.  Fortunately, their passion and commitment for making great coffee won the loyalty of their customers and kept them afloat. They were able to survive what was a difficult time for many much stronger and Press Coffee was born.

Over 10 years and 9 valley locations later, Press Coffee has become an Arizona staple among specialty coffee enthusiasts while earning national recognition for their coffees. Although Press has evolved over the years, they have stayed true to their beginnings: sourcing the best possible product, using only the best equipment but most importantly finding team members that share the Press passion for amazing coffee. Remaining quality-driven and community-focused Press Coffee not only supports Arizona charities but the coffee farmers around the world supplying our passion.

At Press, we share our passion for specialty coffee by providing the highest quality coffee, service, and knowledge to customers and the community every day. We roast fresh to order to ensure the freshest cup.

Press Coffee Roasters was born out of Press Coffee, Food and Wine which was located in North Phoenix. The Roastery was created out of our need for high-quality fresh roasted coffee with an emphasis on retaining the natural characteristics of the bean. Unlike many coffee roasters in Phoenix, we have multiple retail locations letting us really connect with our coffee. We pride ourselves in the knowledge we have about our coffee; whether it be a specific growing region, roasting a coffee to an exact profile, extracting an outstanding espresso, pouring a perfect cappuccino, or finishing a drink with stunning latte art. We strive to be leaders in Arizona coffee and continue to gain and share knowledge about the most current developments in the specialty coffee industry.

Press Coffee Roasters takes an artisan approach to roasting and is only done in small batches; we find this the best way to maintain a high-level consistency and quality. We meticulously source and roast coffees from various regions all over the world. During our coffee sourcing process, we sample roast and cup multiple coffees from each of the regions that we carry. After selecting the best representative coffees, we then fine-tune our roasting process to bring out the best inherent flavor in each coffee. It is a time-consuming process, but we do this to ensure that only great coffees will bear the Press Coffee Roasters name.

Press Coffee has become an Arizona staple among specialty coffee enthusiasts. While earning national recognition for their coffees, the Press team has stayed true to its beginnings. They continue to source the best possible product, use only the industry’s best equipment, and most importantly value team members who share a passion for amazing coffees.
