Roasted to order — every bag ships within 24 hours of roasting.

A Bright, Juicy Medium Roast with a Jasmine Finish

Mandarin Sorbet is a medium roast of Ethiopian arabica and Malaysian Liberica, roasted to order in Kuala Lumpur. It opens on sweet mandarin orange and the crisp snap of granny smith, carries a hint of mango through the middle, and finishes on jasmine. Ethiopia brings the brightness; Malaysian Liberica gives the cup its body, so the fruit stays juicy rather than thin.

About This Coffee

Mandarin Sorbet puts two origins in one bag, and each has a job. The Ethiopian arabica carries the brightness and the florals. Malaysian Liberica does the anchoring: a species grown here at home, with the weight that stops a bright blend from tasting thin.

We roast it medium in our Kuala Lumpur roastery. What reaches the cup is sweet citrus and crisp green fruit up front, a hint of mango in the middle, and a clean jasmine finish.

How to Brew Mandarin Sorbet

Espresso 1:2 ratio, 18g in for 36g out in 28-32 seconds
Filter 1:15 ratio, water at 93°C

If your espresso tastes sharp or thin, grind a little finer; if it tastes harsh or dry, grind coarser. For filter, dial the grind to land a 3 to 4 minute brew.

How Much Coffee Is in a Bag?

At 15g a cup, a 300g bag makes about 20 cups, or RM2.45 a cup. Two 300g bags make about 40 cups at about RM2.38 a cup, and the 1kg bag stretches to about 66 cups at about RM2.26 a cup. The recipes above use 18g for a fuller cup, so expect a few cups fewer if you brew that way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Mandarin Sorbet better for espresso or filter?
It works both ways. As filter at 1:15 the mandarin and jasmine have room to open up; as espresso at 1:2 it pulls bright and juicy, a lively shot rather than a chocolatey one.

What does Mandarin Sorbet taste like?
Sweet mandarin orange up front, a crisp granny smith snap, a hint of mango through the middle and a jasmine finish.

Why is it called Mandarin Sorbet?
For the way it drinks: sweet citrus first, then a clean, refreshing finish that leaves the palate light, like a good sorbet.

How fresh is the coffee?
We roast to order in Kuala Lumpur, and every bag ships within 24 hours of roasting. Beans taste best from 5 to 7 days after the roast date printed on the bag and stay good to about day 30.

Do you offer free shipping?
Free shipping within Peninsular Malaysia on orders from RM80, and East Malaysia from RM150.
