Description
From the highlands of Wegida Village in Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia, smallholder producer Beyene Dori cultivates 3.5 hectares of traditional garden coffee at elevations over 2000 MASL. Now in his early 80s, Beyene continues to grow Kurume, a prized local landrace valued for its delicate, expressive character. Processed at the Ela Washing Station, carefully selected cherries undergo 60-72 hours of fermentation before being washed and slowly dried on raised African beds for 10 days. This meticulous approach showcases the clarity and complexity of this high-altitude coffee, revealing an elegant cup with sparkling bergamot aromatics, sweet peach, delicate black tea and a smooth toffee finish.
