Décaféiné – La Belle Endormie

Located in the municipality of San Pedro de Copán, Cooperativa Cafetalera Capucas Limitada (COCAFCAL) now has more than 700 members who actively contribute to COCAFCAL’s vision and mission.

According to the cooperative’s general manager, Omar Rodríguez Romero: “There is still great potential for new members!” “Being small-scale producers is our guarantee of good agricultural practices and the best quality for our customers.”

Honduras is the largest coffee-producing country in Central America and ranks among the world’s top ten. After suffering greatly from the collapse of the central coffee cooperative in 2006, which took many member cooperatives down with it, the coffee sector is back on track and improving the selection and processing of its coffees by encouraging high-quality production among both growers and cooperatives.
